Alan and Annette’s Wedding 30 May 10

Posted: July 6, 2010 in Uncategorized

What a perfect wedding!  Everybody (including the bride) was so relaxed and comfortable.  I had fun photographing the boys at Alan and Annette’s house in their boat and with the beloved pig dog!  They had a laugh and it set a good mood for the day.  When I arrived at the Colonial Club to photograph Annette and her party I was pleasantly surprised to find that she was ready, calm and looked stunningly beautiful!  Her make up was superb, as it accentuated her facial features especially her eyes and her hair (which was done by Tokanui) was uplifted into a modern, soft style which complimented Annette’s dress.  We had plenty of time to play and got some great shots!  The ceremony was romantic as it was held under the gazzibo at the Colonial Club with Gina Miles as the celebrant.  After a celebratory glass of champagne, we headed off on our photography excursion.  We went to five locations as time permitted us to do so.  The bridal party were great and we got a lot of laughs mixed with some great imagery.   The weather was perfect, which accentuated the day.  The reception was at the Colonial Club and I was told by Annette that the food was good and everything flowed smoothly.  So, well done you guys, I had a wonderful time and the images, album and coffee table books prove it.  xx

Lynette and Aaron  – Palm Cove Beach 22nd May 2010

Aaron and Lynette, from Melbourne, said their vows in front of family and friends in a simple but beautiful ceremony on the beach at Palm Cove.  Celebrant, Vivian Reid, performed a very personal ceremony that linked Aaron and Lynette’s life together.  The ceremony was held at 1.30pm with reception starting at 5.30pm at Vivo Resturant, Esplanade Palm Cove.  Lynette wore a stunning pale gold gown that complimented her figure perfectly.  Aaron wore a tailored suit of olive green.  Together, they made a stunning couple that were so easy to photograph!  The wind, light, and the personalities of the bride and groom and their party made my life very easy.  The photographs turned out great, the afternoon was relaxed, informal and a lot of fun.  It was a most enjoyable day.  Thanks Lynette and Aaron for choosing me as your photographer for your special day!

Have a look at this next post for a selection of their images.  Enjoy

Wedding in the Rain

The last wedding I photographed really brought home the importance of ‘making your wedding your own”.  I think that it is very important to not get carried away with all the promotional items and the hype evolving a wedding.  Keep true to yourself and what is important and of value to you.  At the end of the day what you will remember the most is how you and your fiance felt – your emotions, your love.

The wedding I am talking about was held on the wettest, darkest day that we have had for a long time.  The couple, their family and friends travelled from Melbourne to celebrate this special occasion.  I was prepared and brought along studio lighting to set up in the room if locations were impossible.  I was expecting an upset bride, thinking that she would think her wedding day was ruined.  Instead, The bride was calm and happy.  The ceremony location had to be changed last minute but this still didn’t phase her.  She was getting married, and what was important to her was her fiance, children, and family and friends to help celebrate.  The following events changed my perspective and enforced the power of love and friendship.  They accepted that this was their day and flowed with it.  They ended up getting changed out of their wedding apparel (after a short stint of photographs) and changed into casual clothes, then they ALL just jumped in the pool!  I was told to photograph, so I did!  I photographed under an umbrella.  I eventually got thrown in as well.  The brides hair and makeup was gone, but oh, was she happy!  She had not a care in the world.  She married the love of her life and this was going to be a day she will remember ……… and so will everyone else, and I captured her memories.

Hi everyone,  my name is Natalie Martin and I am the photographer and designer of Stella Studios, a professional photography studio based in Cairns, North Queensland. I love what I do!  Not many people can say this about their job, but I can.  I specialise in Weddings and this year I am expanding to incorporate Portrait Photography as well.  The reason why I am so specialised is that I am a mum as well to two beautiful children aged 2 and 3.  By specialising in one area at a time I am able to uphold a professional service and provide clients with what they need.  As my children get older I am expanding which is great news for me and you!  I have been photographing since early 2000 and have completed a degree in the process.  For a comprehensive viewing of my work and my packages please visit my website at http://www.stellastudios.com.au or you can phone me direct on 0420 304739.  Thanks  and have a great day!
